While growing up in the Midwest, Marilyn Bodine lived a comfortable life full of activity and affection. Unfortunately, her idyllic environment left her ill-prepared for the monumental challenges that faced her in her early teens—a polio epidemic that left her with a life-long disability and the tumultuous divorce of her parents that elicited gossip and unwanted stares. As these two life-altering events left her angry, frustrated, and hopeless, Marilyn had no idea that these dark moments would be the catalyst that would lead her to God.
